What should I have ready?: Nothing for the first call. If you have a letter from the IRS or the state, or your last tax return, keep it nearby.
Will you tell me what the IRS is going to do?: No, and be careful of anyone who does before seeing your file. We’ll tell you what your choices are and what we’d do next.
